Men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have launched another early morning attack on Kikan Village in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
Reports from the area revealed that, the herdsmen attacked in early hours of Sunday morning shooting sporadically.
This development threw the villagers who rose from sleep into confusion, as they fled to the nearby bushes for safety.
The Chairman of Numan Local Government Mr Arnold Jibila who confirmed the attacked said the number of deaths cannot be ascertain for now.
The herdsmen were said to have stormed the village on more than 20 motor cycles while others came on foot to launch the surprise attack as the unsuspecting villagers were asleep.
More than three persons have been confirmed dead while a number of the wounded have been evacuated to the Numan General Hospital.
Annoyed by the attack, the Bachama youth mobilised Sunday afternoon and launched counter attacks on Dowayan-waja and Lure villages burning everything at sight .
Speaking on the separate attacks in Numan, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, S.P Othman Abubakar said from the Police Area Commander in charge of the area has confirmed that two male and two female villagers were killed.
Abubakar also stated that few villagers were injured in the attacks and were taken to Numan General Hospital for treatment noting that many houses and property were destroyed in Kikan and Dowaya -waja villages.
He maintained that, two units of anti-riot mobile police has since been redeployed to ensure normalcy in the area pledging that the assailants will be fished out and brought to book.
