Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Friday, ordered the relocation of the office of his Deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan to the outskirt of the state Secretariat at  the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources.

The relocation notice was contained in a two paragraph letter with reference number SP/S326/T/71 was dated June 17th letter issued and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun.

The SSG in the letter entitled “Relocation of the office of the Deputy Governor of Oyo State to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources stated that Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the relocation of the Office of the Deputy Governor to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Secretariat, Ibadan with immediate effect

“I have the directive to inform Your Excellency that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde (FNSE) has approved the relocation of the Office of the Deputy Governor to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Secretariat, Ibadan.

“I thank Your Excellency.”

New Nigerian reliably gathered  that the relocation might not be unconnected with the recent defection of Engineer Olaniyan from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Already the Oyo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Deputy Governor to vacate his office having defected from the party to APC.

Also, the State House of Assembly has served the Deputy Governor notice of impeachment directing him to respond to allegations raised against him in the notice of impeachment.
