The chairman of the All farmers association (AFAN), Jigawa State Chapter, Alhaji Idris Yau Mai Unguwa Jaga has commended the federal government for planning to provide agricultural exportation through air transportation.
In a statement he issued to newsmen in Dutse the Jigawa State capital, Mai Unguwa Jaga said that the proposal to establish an airport at Hadejia is a welcome idea, through which all agricultural exportation would be carried without obstacles.
He assured that Jigawa State farmers would use the opportunity in exporting their bumper harvests to different destinations, which is another landmark achievement initiated by the ministry of aviation.
“On behalf of the executive of our great association, Jigawa State farmers and other relevant stakeholders, I commend the Honourable Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika, the Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar as well as al those who gave helping hands in actualizing the gigantic project at this time,” he emphasized.
In another development, Mai Unguwa Jaga thanked the Minister of Water Resources, Engineer Sulaiman Kazaure for the role he played in ensuring that the long awaited Ghari Irrigation Project was commissioned for the full implementation of irrigation project that accommodates millions of people to be self reliant.
He announced that, ” through best formidable irrigation projects, economic progress tends to be actualized especially at present, when the globe is gradually advancing in the area of mechanized agriculture through viable irrigation programmes.
” From what is going on, the commissioning of Ghari Irrigation Project and the establishment of air transportation at Hadejia destination would be added advantage towards the promotion of the economy, self reliance and peaceful coexistence in Jigawa State”.
