Bichi Local Government Council under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Dr Yusuf Mohammed Sabo has approved naming of the newly constructed ultra modern market after late Kabiru Abubakar Bichi.
The decision was unanimously agreed in order to immortalise the late politician due to his immense contribution to the development of Bichi, Kano and Nigeria at large during his time as Member House of Assembly and later Commissioner Ministry of Environment, during Malam Ibrahim Shekarau’s first term as governor of Kano State.
Dr. Sabo’s administration is determined to honour sons and daughters of Bichi, who have sacrificed for the development of Bichi Local Government Area.
The reconstruction project facilitated by the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency in the green chamber and Chairman House of Representatives committee on Works, Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, is expected to stimulate economic activities that will enhance job opportunities and income generation and promote internally generated revenue.
It was gathered that the shops allocation to owners will soon commence in fulfillment of the promises made prior to the commencement of the project 15 months ago.
