No fewer than 24 persons have died in Bauchi state following the outbreak of Lassa fever between November 2015 and February 2017.
Statistics of Lassa fever outbreak obtained in Bauchi from the State Ministry of Health indicated that 37 cases were recorded in seven local government areas of the State.
Report gave the lassa fever affected Local Government Areas in Bauchi state as Tafawa Balewa, Dass, Bauchi, Bogoro, Toro, Alkaleri and Ganjuwa.
According to the report, two lassa fever cases recorded in Plateau state were also treated in Bauchi.
It indicated that a total of 18 people died as a result of the outbreak in 2016 while 3 died in 2015, as 2017 has 3 deaths.
A total of 23 males between the ages of 3 and 78 while 14 males aged between 20 and 70 years were reported to have been affected by the disease during the period under review.
