Kogi  Speaker Inaugurates House  Cttee On Water Resources

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Aliyu Umar Yusuf has inaugurated the Assembly’s Standing Committee on Water Resources and charged members to work towards ensuring provision of quality water resources for the people of the state. 

It was made known in a statement signed by Yabagi Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly.

It said the committee was inaugurated on behalf of the Speaker by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Enema Paul, and is being chaired by the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency, Hon Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani (BEST). 

The Speaker, who expressed confidence in the ability of the committee to ensure problems associated with water provision are addressed, noted that the chairman, being a former Advisor to the Governor on Water Resources, is capable of justifying the committee’s mandate.

In his own address, the Chairman of the committee, Hon Bin-Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani expressed gratitude to the speaker for the opportunity to serve and promised to come up with ways to address the problems identified in the sector. 

He appealed to stakeholders in the sector to give necessary support to his members at all times, so as to ensure they achieve the task of making quality water available to the people of the state.
