Kogi State Government has queried the Ohinoyi of Egbiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim for deliberate exhibition of attitudes and actions capable of bringing the state and Egbiraland in particular to great  direpute.

These recurring actions, if not tamed the government observed, are quite unbecoming of a revered royal father of his status.

In  the six paragraph letter with ref. No. mlgca/30/v1/xx dated 5th January, 2023, government observed with dismay that the monarch was conspicuously missing from the state function during the presidential visit of Muhammadu Buhari to commission some key projects.

According to the lette signed by the Director, Chieftancy Affairs, A. Eniola for the Commissioner, the government drew the attention of Ohinoyi to the established tradition of topmost traditional rulers of the state to receive the governor and his entourage on arrival from a function of behalf of the state.

In his words, ” but you have chosen to disdain the office of the executive governor and this time you did it with effrontry before the number one citizen of Nigeria”.

“This action of yours is an act of insubordination and disloyalty to the president and commander-in-chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, the executive governor of Kogi state and the entire Ebira nation as a whole”.

The letter is of the opinion that the actions of the paramount ruler portend grave danger to the security of the state and laying bad precedence for traditional institution of the state.

The Egbira majesty is therefore, required to forward a written letter of explanation within two days why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for these actions of insubordination and disloyalty.

The letter advised the paramount custodian of Ebira culture to accord priority to the content and form of the letter.

It would be recalled that president Muhammadu Buhari was on official visit to Kogi State on December 29,  2022 to commission some projects executed by Governor Yahaya Bello when the palace was rocked by bomb explosions that killed four.
