The Kogi State Government has expressed profound gratitude to the Department of State Security (DSS) for unmasking the terrorists behind the Okene explosion of Thursday December 29, 2022 that nearly marred the inauguration of key projects by President Mohammad Buhari while on official visit to the state.
The record apprehension of the principal characters is an eloquent testimony of the position of government that enemies of the state have no hiding place from the eagle eyes of the indomitable security architecture of the present administration.
A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kinsley Fanwo, said the culprits intended to turn the state into anarchy, but for the prompt intervention of the security.
He called on the ubiquitous security apparatus in the state to investigate the motives of the attackers, with a view to averting future occurrence.
“We want to assure the good people of Kogi State that the administration is prepared to ruthlessly tackle the lingering handful of insecurity in the state,” he said.
The state information manager further stressed that Kogi has zero tolerance for all forms of crime, assuring that pockets of cases of crimes will be handled with dispatch in the state.
“We wish to assure the people of Kogi State that the state government will spare no resources in ensuring that the state remains peaceful, united and safe”. It stated.
