KDSG condemns Godogodo attack, deploys security to the area

Kaduna State Government has expressed disapproval over the murder of citizens in Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Ungwan Anjo communities in Jema’a local government area of the state.
The governor, Nasir Ahmad El-rufai condemned the attacks, and expressed his condolence to the families of the victims.
In a statement by Samuel Aruwan, spokesperson of the Governor, he disclosed that a detachment of soldiers and police has been drafted to the communities.
“The Kaduna State Government condemns the murders that were perpetrated by criminal elements that attacked our communities in Gida Biyu, Akwa’a and Angwan Anjo in Jema’a Local Government Area. The Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, extends his condolence to the survivors and the families of the victims.
“The government has directed relevant officials to take over the treatment of all those who were wounded. The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) is also mobilizing relief materials to the affected communities and persons, and will be taking an inventory of damage in the affected communities.”
“The government commended security agencies for their prompt response in repelling the attackers, but it urges that active steps be taken to improve intelligence gathering so as to deter attacks and prevent any outbreak of violence in any of our communities.
“In this sad moment, the government requests that all residents of the state demonstrate solidarity, share each other’s pains and deny the attackers the pleasure of triggering division and acrimony, in addition to the vile murders they have committed.”
