The Chairman of Katsina United Football Club, Alhaji Kabir Danlami has said that the target of his team is not to only pick a continental ticket, but to win the Nigeria Premier League title.

Speaking to journalists, Alh Kabir Dalanmi said going into the second round, his team will ensure they pick points away and keep  100 per cent  home record.

“We will ensure we pick more points away and keep and one  hundred per cent home record. We want to win the title and not just to get a continental ticket,” he said.

He added that the new found form of Katsina United towards the end of the first round of the NPFL was because the management focused on the welfare of the players   and coaches to motivate them.

In another development, the GM of the team, Alh Gadaffi Mohammed has said that clubs are not always patient for developmental process which is part of the problem facing the league which as seen players and coaches moving often.

“When government puts pressure on management, management will also put pressure on coaches, this does not give room for developmental process” .

He gave exception to Remo Stars, whom he said,  is owned by someone he respects so much in the person of Kunle  Soname.

“You can see Remo doing so well on the table, a private club owned by Kunle Soname, I am a fan of Kunle Soname, he has a developmental programme for his team and they are doing well in the league, that is because it is a privately owned team,” he said.

He praised the officiating in the league this season.

” So far, officiating has been good and we hope it will get better,” he declared.
