The Katsina State Police Command has smashed a notorious syndicate of eight terrorists, armed robbers and a motorcycle snatcher who strangles his victims using cable wires.
A statement by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Gambo Isah reads in parts “On the 30/05/2022 at about 1600hrs, the Command succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of terrorists that led to the arrest of the duo of one Isah Sabitu alias “Babani”, ‘M’, aged 20yrs and Idi Salisu Gadi, ‘M’, aged 20yrs of Musawa LGA, notorious members of the syndicate. The fact of the case is that on 28/05/2022 at about 2000hrs, terrorists numbering about three (3), armed with dangerous weapons, attacked the residence of one Sakina Sanusi, ‘F’, of Rugar Kusa village, Musawa LGA and robbed her of money the sum of two hundred and sixty three thousand naira (N263,000:00K) and one GSM Vivo valued N8000, belonging to one Abdulkadir Adamu and also kidnapped her daughter one Hajara Lawal ‘f’ aged 18yrs of the same address to Bambama forest. In the course of investigation, Police Patrol
Team, rescued the kidnapped victim unhurt at the forest. One of the suspects identified as Babaye is presently at large. Investigation is ongoing.”
SP Isah also stated that, “On the 06/5/2022 at about
2200hrs’ the command succeed in arresting one Yahya Muntari ‘M’ aged 23yrs of Ruma village,LGA,armed robbers and motorcycle snatched who specializes in luring unsuspecting commercial motorcycle riders to lonely road and strangled them using motorcycle clubs cable wire ,killied them and stole away their motorcycle.”
According to the command, Namesis caught up with the suspect when he was accosted by police patrol team attached to Anti Kauraye on routine patrol along Batsari road behind KTTV where he lured one Abdullah Bello ‘m”aged 22yrs of Dantsauni Village,LGA,a commercial motorcycle rider and strangled him with a cable wire .
The statement say he was rescued by the timely intervention of the police and was rushed to General hospital for treatment.
“In the course of investigation, suspects confessed to have killed many of his victims through the same modus operandi and mentioned the duo of one Abubakar Musa alias Abu-Abu ,m’ aged 17yrs of
Unguwar Abba Jaya and Zaharaddini”M”aged 25yrs Unguwar Tsamiya, both of Dutsinma town ,Dutsinma LGA,as members of his syndicate.
“All suspects have been arrested and confessed to the commission of the offence as investigation is ongoing with a view to arresting other members of notorious gang,” It added.
