Katsina Planning To Replace Retired Medical Personnel – Masari

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has said that the state government is considering replacement of medical personnel who retired from the service of the state.

This he said, is in realization of the importance of their services in the healthcare delivery in the state.

Governor Bello Masari made the declaration when he led the commissioning of a 24-bed comprehensive female ward named after his late mother, Hajiya Mariya Idris constructed by Alhaji Salisu Mamman Continental at General Hospital Katsina.

Governor Masari said the state government was now awaiting proposals for the replacements of the retired medical personnel from the state ministry of health for prompt action.

 Governor Masari appreciated the philanthropist for sacrificing part of his wealth in construction of the female ward and named it after his late mother Hajiya Mariya.

 On his part, the state Commissioner of Health, Engineer Yakubu Nuhu Danja said the sacrifice made by Alhaji Salisu Continental in Constructing the Medical Ward at the General Hospital was a giant stride in the right direction as it conformed with the saying of “Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that the best among people Is he who benefit humanity.”

Engineer Nuhu Danja said time has passed when people would fold their arms to await government to do everything for them.

 Engineer Danja observed that the hospital needs more intervention from both the government and other stakeholders especially in caring women and children.

According to him the foundation has before the completion of the medical ward project undertook a number of projects and programmes that have direct bearings on the lives of larger society.

Among them are, 350-seater multi-purpose assembly hall at Kadandani Community Secondary School, two blocks of Islamiyya classrooms and mosque at Ajiwa Water Works, as well as construction of Kadandani Juma’at Mosque.

This he said, is in addition to the provision of 17 million Naira empowerment to 1,000 women and 701 students of Rimi Local Government Area, as well as the provision of 10 million Naira for one project per ward in each of the ten electoral wards in Rimi Local Government Area, among others.

Others who spoke, include the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Kabir Mustapha and the chairman of the occasion, Senator Abba Ali, who appreciated the chairman of Continental Group for his sacrifice and urged other public spirited individuals to emulate him.
