Katsîna Govt Tasks Citizens On Tax Payment

Katsina State Government has re-emphasized the need for citizens on prompt payments of tax to enable the government execute developmental projects. 

Executive Chairman of State Board of internal Revenue, Alhaji Muhammad Isiyaku Funtua disclosed this during a sensitization tour on the significance of tax payment among the citizens to  traditional Rulers and Unions  leaders.

Places visited includes,  Jibia, Kaita, Batagarawa, Daddara and Tsagero Districts.

The Executive Chairman who was represented by Alhaji Ibrahim  Kofar Soro said they were at the palaces to solicited the support of traditional rulers to assist in sensitize people  on the importance of tax payment.

He said that, the sensitization became necessary considering the effort of the current state administration to transform the state, hence the need for government to boost internally Generated Revenue to enable it to achieve the desired objective.

According to him recruiting over one thousand four hundred community watch corps, seven thousand new teachers as well as sponsored forty Students to study abroad was a clear testimony of the currents state administration of judicious utilization of internally Generated Revenue.

Alhaji  Ibrahim  Kofar Soro explained that the state government has reduced fifty percent of updating vehicle particulars to enable people update their own. announcing that the Board would soon commence operation show me your particulars.

The  chairman prayed for permanent peace and stability in the state.

In their separate remarks, the Sarkin Arewan Katsina, Danmadamin Katsina District Head of Daddara, Usaman Usman Nagogo, representative of Mallamawan Katsina District Head of Batagarawa, Alhaji Lawal Aliyu and that of Sarkin Sullubawa Galadiman Yandaki, Bello Abubakar acknowledged the foresight of the current state administration for its desire.

The royal fathers assured their readiness of maximum support and corporation of the policy for less dependent of federal allocation.

They also requested the board to consider the particulars of neighboring partners of Niger Republic to create mutual understanding among them towards the development of socio-economic of people of the state.

Addressing leaders of  unions Alhaji Ibrahim Kofar Soro called on them to support government’s policies as its desire was to transform the socio-economic of the state.
