Katsîna Governor Spends N91m On Bandits Victims Support

*Warns  youth  against  working  as informants

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of  Katsina State has spent over ninety – one (91) Million Naira as Medical expenses and support to the families of those killed and others who sustained injuries by banditry attacks across the state.

Governor Dikko Radda disclosed this during a disbursement

exercise of four point two (4.2) million naira to support families of Security Personnel and Civilians killed with those sustained injuries by bandits heheld at Government Secondary School Yantumaki in Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.

Represented by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons, Kogunan Jibia Alhaji Sa’idu Ibrahim Danja, Governor Radda said each of the families of the Security Personnel are to receive five hundred thousand (500,000) Naira while that, of civilians would be given two hundred thousand (200,000) naira respectively.

Kogunan Jibia said for those sustained injuries would be given fifty thousand (50,000) Naira each.stressing that, the money was not meant to compensate the families but a support to reduce their sufferings 

Alhaji Saidu Ibrahim Danja who registered the condolence of the Governor Radda over the  killings, sympathized with others who sustain injuries and renewed government stand in the fight against bandits,and their informants. 

While warning youth in the state against been enticed  to work as informants, Kogunan Jibia appreciated the support and cooperation of both  members of vigilante groups and patriotic youths in supporting security personnel and called on people in the state to stand firm in protecting their communities against banditry attacks.

Earlier, Chairman of Danmusa Local Government Area, Alhaji  Sanusi Dangi Abbas in his welcome address expressed gratitude to the state Governor, Dikko Umar Radda for the kind gesture.

Alhaji Sanusi Dangi reminded members of the local communities that, Security should not be left to the Government alone hence the need for public support and cooperation.

In a vote of thanks, Magajin Mallam of katsina and District Head of Yantumaki, Alhaji Darda’u Abubakar who thanked  Governor Dikko Umar Radda for his concern to the victims said the gesture was the first of its kind.

In a related development, the Senator representing  katsina Central Senatorial Zone, Lieutenant Colonel Abdukaziz Musa Yar’adua (rtd) has also disbursed one million six hundred and fifty thousand naira to the families of those killed by bandits and others injured by bandits in Danmusa Local Government Area.

Represented by Alhaji Umar Faruq Abubakar, Senator Yar’adua said families of those killed by the bandit’s received one hundred thousand (100,000) Naira each while those sustained injuries received twenty thousand (20,000) Naira each.
