Katsina Gov Signs 8 Security Challenges Containment Orders Into Law

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has signed Eight  Security Challenges Containment Order.

 They include,  the ban of lorries, trucks carrying firewood and cattle from the forest; suspension of the sale of cattle at the markets of Danmusa, Kankara, Batsari, Faskari and Sabuwa; clearance on the transportation of cattle from Katsina State to any state in the country must be thought through the district village or ward head as the case may be, and the ban on the riding of unregistered Keke-NAPEP tricycles, motorcycles and high-speed motorcycle (popularly known as Boko Haram) throughout the state.

 Similarly, the order of total ban on carrying more than four persons in tricycles; all motorists and cyclists are ordered to not later than August 31, 2023,  ensure registering their vehicles, failure to do so will amount for committing an offence, re-enforcement of the the total ban on the sale of petrol in jerrycans at filling stations, any person who contravenes to provision of this order commits an offence punishable under   Section 114 of the Penal Code Law.

According to the governor, the order was made in the interest of security and public safety 

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda charged people of the state to ensure strict compliance.warning that, any person that default the order would be arrested.
