Katsina CP Parades Suspects, Says June To September Challenging

Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa  has revealed that    June  1 to  September 30, 2023 has been a challenging period in the history of

 the command and nevertheless it has recorded tremendous successes against the menace of banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery and other forms of crime and criminality in the state.

     

Commissioner of Police Abubakar Musa disclosed this while parading suspects before newsmen at a press conference held at the Command headquarters in Katsina metropolis thanked the Acting Inspector General of the Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for his undaunted support to the Command without whom he said the quantum of successes would not have been achieved.

    

CP Musa who spoke through the Command Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu explained that, “the modest achievements, more still need to be done starting from this moment. 

“It is absolutely imperative to warn recalcitrant criminals to either surrender or be dealt with according to the extant laws of the land.”

   

He said during the period under review the Command has recorded the following achievements, one thousand and five (1,005) suspects were arrested in connection with eight hundred and fifty-three (853) reported cases, while three hundred and ninety five (395) cases are undergoing prosecution in various competent courts of law in the state.

     

CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa said in the course of the campaign fifty-three (53) suspected Armed Robbers, Eighty two (82) suspected kidnappers,

Seventy-three (73) murder suspects, Ninety (90) suspected rapist were arrested.

     

However,  a total number of seven hundred and seven (707) suspects were arrested for various offences such as criminal force, intimidation, being in possession of hard drugs/ dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, cultism, inciting disturbance and belonging to gang of brigands, among others.

      

According to CP Musa the command has succeeded in 

rescuing one hundred and seventy one (171) kidnapped victims, neutralized five (5) suspected kidnappers, and recovered the following exhibits, “Four (4) Ak 47 rifles, six (6) locally made guns,

Five hundred and seventeen (517) live rounds of ammunition.”

     

He emphasized that, over six hundred (600) suspected rustled animals, twelve (12) suspected stolen motor vehicles and motorcycles, seventeen (17) suspected stolen motor phones,

five hundred and sixty-eight (568) sachet of D5 tablets, One hundred and eighty (180) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, Twenty three (23) packets of Exzole tablets, four hundred and eleven (411) packets of rebozel tablets, and five (5) packs of Diezole tablet.

  

Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa acknowledged and appreciated the immense cooperation and partnership of journalists with the command. 

    

He said, “You have sincerely and passionately displayed fraternity and collaboration towards strengthening the relative peace and security in the state through your fair and balanced reportage of the Command activities.”

     

He reiterated that, the fight against crime and criminality is so dynamic and not an easy one. 

“But  I urge you to continue to project the hard and good work of the Police and other security agencies to the general public.”   He appealed.  

  

Commissioner of Police Abubakar Musa thanked people of the state for their unflinching support, understanding, resilience and cooperation to the Command and appealed for maximum support of “all and sundry in the aid of security agencies in the state.”
