Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has been called upon to ban all underaged tricycle operators in the state for safety measures, where most of the accidents involving tricycles, are usually caused by the underaged operators.
The call was made by Malam Shehu Abdullahi in an interview with newsmen in Kano, adding that many underaged tricycle operators cause.accidents almost everyday, which is against road traffic rules and regulations.
He maintained that despite the bad activities of some commercial tricycle operators in the state, Kano is also witnessing too much underaged drivers who are toying with the lives of the people especially in the metropolis.
” I hope that the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) would include the ban of underaged tricycle operators in its laws to ensure that there is safety on our roads especially at present when there is no regulation in the tricycle operations in Kano State,” he added.
Malam Shehu Abdullahi advised passengers to always board tricycles that are being driven by a person who is able to control the vehicle under any circumstances.
