Kano State remains in a peaceful mood after the recent Supreme Court hearing between governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Dr. Nasir Yusuf Gawuna and his party All Progressives Congress (APC) which indicated that the routine prayers usually offered by the both sides is working despite the facts that all the warring sides are claiming victory.
Our correspondent who monitored the city of Kano and other gathering placed across metropolitan areas, reported that people are going about their normal activities without any obstacles, while the combined security agents remain vigilant especially around Government House, State Assembly, state owned radio stations and Sabon Gari suburb in order to ensure that all is well in the city.
An Islamic scholar, Sheikh Usman Iman told New Nigerian that, “Kano would continue to remain peaceful and I am certain that our prayers would continue to be important in this respect and I commend our security men across the military, police and other paramilitary forces for keeping Kano State peaceful and secured, especially whenever there is court verdict,”he concluded.
Earlier, the Kano State police command issued a strong warning to the public that anybody caught trying to sabotage the peaceful coexistence in any form would be severely dealt with in accordance with the laws.
