*Promises to block leakages in public financing

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has presented 350 billion Naira as 2024 fiscal year budget titled, “Budget of Restoration and Transformation” to the state House of Assembly on Friday October 27, 2023.
According to Governor Abba Kabir, out of the total amount budgeted, 215.8 billion Naira has been earmarked for capital expenditure while the recurrent expenditure is billed for 134.4 billion Naira respectively.
Furthermore, the governor announced that education received the highest budget amount of 95.3 billion Naira, works 40.4 billion Naira, physical planning got 5.1 billion Naira, while agriculture got 11 billion Naira respectively.
Similarly, water resources got 13.4 billion Naira, while women and youths got 8.9 billion Naira, while the governor promised to continue executing projects related to human development at both rural and urban settlements.
Speaking to our correspondent, shortly after the budget presentation, the chairman of the movement for the support of democracy and good governance, Alhaji Dauda Mohammed Ali disclosed that blocking financial leakage is one of the great factors that influence national development in financial management.
