For quite some time, whenever it rains, Rijiyar Lemo to Bachirawa road is  overtaken by flooding which creates great traffic gridlock thereby, causing serious traffic jam for some days in Kano State.

Our correspondent who monitored how motorists and other vehicle owners move on the road, reports that from Yan Babura Line to Kwanar Jajira, the road is overtaken by excess water, which comes from both sides of the road due to the lack of good drainage every rainy season.

This causes heavy gridlock for  hours,  because motorists always dodge the flood area in search of better routes which usually lasts for some hours in the gridlock which is needing the government’s intervention.

A resident of Layin Dogon Bene Malam Abba Ibrahim said that,  “Whenever it rains, we encounter serious gridlock from Layin Yan Babura to Azman Filling Station opposite Kwanar Jajira and we are calling on our federal lawmaker, Comrade Aminu Suleiman Goro to come to our aid and present our matter for urgent measures”.

Furthermore, a commercial driver whose car was grounded due to the water flow into his engine, called on the state and federal government to wade into the matter because whenever it rains, the stretch of  road from Layin Yan Babura to  Kwanar Jajira is  a great threat to motorists and pedestrians.

Our correspondent gathered that lack of wide drainage has been one of the problems that causes  flooding from Layin Yan Babura to Kwanar Jajira around Riniyar Kemp Quarters which needs urgent intervention.
