A businessman in  Kano, Alhaji Usman Dan Gwari has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to allow  N500 and N1,000 notes to continue circulating, pending the Supreme Court final verdict.

In an interview with newsmen in Kano, Dan Gwari stressed that up till now, there is huge amount of 500,1,000 Naira notes at hand, while the new notes remained in scarcity despite the Central Bank of Nigeria  (CBN’s) directive to make it available in the banks.

He added that, “The presidential speech has added more fuel to Naira redesign problems in Nigeria, and Nigerians are really suffering,  in respect of the Naira scarcity and we hope that the president would allow the Supreme Court to judge rather than scaling it’s constitutional rights”.

Alhaji Usman Dan Gwari called on Nigerians  to remain calm, law abiding and prayerful for the Naira redesigning issue to cease before the forthcoming general elections.

He was optimistic  that the elections would be free and fair as expected.
