Kaduna State Government Will Continue To Partner  Value Seeds — Commissioner

Kaduna State Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Dabo Mohammed has said  that the state government will continue to partner with Value Seeds Ltd, towards  supporting women farmers in the state.

He stated this while speaking during his tour of the seed’s company at its office at Tashar Ya’u in Kudan Local Government Area.

Dabo Mohammed said, it is encouraging that Value Seeds Company has targeted women as beneficiaries through AGRA Gender Consortium because they  are trustworthy.

The commissioner charged the company to do more in maintaining its quality and improved seeds to farmers in the state.

He reiterated government commitment towards partnering with Value Seeds Company in its efforts to assist farmers in the state.

Earlier in his welcome address,  Mr. George Kabutha, Head of Finance and Administration of the company said their objective is to increase productivity for women smallholder farmers in Kaduna and Niger states.

“Also, they have increased capacity of smallholder farming households and value chain to better prepare, adopt to shocks and stressed.

“While they strengthen young women”s access to output markets at scale,” he said.

According to him, 40.378 women farmers were trained on farming as an enterprise and cooperative entrepreneurship.

Mr. George Kabutha also told the commissioner that two agro processing centres were established, one in Kaduna and another  in Niger State,

He said Value Seeds is committed to ensuring that all stakeholders in the seed industry in Nigeria have access to quality seeds which will in turn ensure farmers meet their aspirations of high yield and increased income.
