Few days after stakeholders from Igabi LGA brought to the fore a similar incidence, people of Kaduna South Local Government Area have accused a member representing Makera in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon Yusuf Liman, of attempting to cause chaos over imposing an aspirant for the local government elections slated for this month.
The group explained that Liman is claiming that the said aspirant, is a favourite choice of the state Governor, Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai.
They called on el-Rufai to immediately take action by warning the lawmaker on his move to avert any crisis.
They said that the lawmaker is going about telling people that the seat has been zoned.
The spokesman of the people of the area, Malam Abdullahi Bala told newsmen in Kaduna that even the people of the community don’t know the aspirant that the lawmaker is trying to impose, adding that it this a great offence to lie that he is the governor’s choice.
According to him, el-Rufai has said on several occasions that he doesn’t have a candidate for the said sit.
“We are calling on Governor el-Rufai to immediately intervene on the move of the lawmaker in order to avert crisis.”
He said, people of the constituency have not benefitted from the representation of the lawmaker talk less of imposing an aspirant on them.
He said “people of the area want justice and fairness for every aspirant that has bought form for the race.”
He queried that: “What is the lawmaker afraid of that he wants to impose an unpopular aspirant on the people of the area?”
