Kaduna Is Football Capital In Nigeria – KIFA DG

Kaduna State has been described as the capital of football in Nigeria as it has produced players for both the national team as well as made footballers rich and achieve their dreams.

This assertion was made by the Director General of the Kanu International Football Academy (KIFA)  Prince Dapo Ajibaje at the unveiling of the KIFA/Arewa Youth Football Competition held in Kaduna Friday.

According to him, “Kaduna has produced players like Amokachi, Yekini and Garba Lawal it’s therefore pertinent to bring the competition to the capital of the north and football as it were.”

He said KIFA”s vision is to take youths off the streets as well as empower them so they can empower others ad they represent the future of the country.

‘As leaders of tomorrow, it behoves on us to give them a sense of belonging and good footing for the challenges ahead.”

On his part the Director of Sports Kaduna state, Ibrahim Yakubu urged the 16 players scouts have discovered in the state to make good use of the opportunities at their doorsteps and help discover others.

“This is an opportunity for new talents to be discovered and we are grateful to KIFA for bringing this football tournament to the state.”

Ex-National players that graced the occasion include Ishaya Jatto and Stephen Musa.
