Kaduna  Health Supplies Management Authority Unveils Service Charter, Operational Guidelines

Kaduna State Commissioner of Health, Umma K. Ahmed, has expressed confidence that the Service Charter and Operational Guidelines launched by the State Health Supplies Management Authority (KADHSMA), will not only encapsulate values and principles of the health sector, but will also lay the foundation for enhanced operations and service delivery.

The Commissioner, stated this today, at the unveiling of the documents by the agency.

Umma, said,  “KADHSMA Service Charter and Operational Guideline serve as guiding frameworks, outlining our commitment to excellence, transparency, and efficiency in the delivery of health supplies. 

“The Service Charter reflects our commitment to providing quality health supplies, while the Operational Guideline outlines the procedures that will govern our actions and decisions.

“May these documents serve as catalysts for positive change and contribute significantly to the advancement of healthcare services in Kaduna State.”

In her opening remarks, Executive Secretary of KADHSMA, Pharmacist Aisha Isyaku, noted that the documents represent crucial milestone in the agency’s journey toward enhancing healthcare services for the people of Kaduna State. 

According to her, “These documents encapsulate the collective efforts of stakeholders, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and community members who have contributed to their development.

“These documents help streamline processes, ensure transparency, and promote accountability, to enhance the availability, accessibility, and affordability of essential health commodities across the state.

“The service charter outlines our commitment to providing high-quality, client-centered services to all stakeholders, including healthcare facilities, suppliers, and the general public. It serves as a blueprint for fostering trust, promoting collaboration, and delivering excellence in every aspect of our operations.”

The ES, commended Lafiya project and Partnership to Engage, Reform and Learn (PERL-ARC) and everyone who supported the development and validation of the documents, urging all “stakeholders to familiarize themselves with their contents and actively contribute to their implementation.”

“Let us strive to build a more resilient, responsive, and sustainable healthcare system that meets the needs of our communities and ensures the well-being of every citizen of Kaduna State.” She added.

In a goodwill message, representative of Kaduna Maternal Accountability Mechanism (KADMAM), Alex Uangbaoje, who congratulated KADHSMA for the milestone, assured the agency of KADMAM’s support in achieving smooth implementation of the documents.

“For us in KADMAM, we have been waiting for this unveiling so that we can know how to support it smooth implementation through advocacies and we are hopeful that these documents will bring the required transformation to KADHSMA and the entire health sector in Kaduna State.” Alex added.
