Kaduna Govt Partners UBA To Produce ATM Enabled Residency Cards – Commissioner

In its bid at ensuring Financial Inclusion in Kaduna State, the state government is partnering the United Bank of Africa (UBA) to provide access points in the 23 local government areas, by issuing Residency Cards that also function as Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.
This was disclosed by the Commissioner, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Kaduna State, Mr. Idris S. Nyam while declaring open  Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in NIgeria (AMMBAN) Kaduna State Chapter Seminar with the theme: “Financial Inclusion Beyond Cash-in, Cash-Out (CICO), Breeding A Collaborative Ecosystem on Wednesday.
“KDSG is partnering with UBA to improve financial access points in all the 23 Local Government areas of the State. 

“KDSG and UBA also have an MoU for the issuance of Residency Cards to all residents in the state. 
“These cards will also include functionality for financial transactions,” he said. 
In addition, he said, the KDSG has also signed a non-binding MoU with Fintech solution providers MAKEBA Inc. 
“The MoU is for the implementation of high priority financial services solutions that have beenidentified by Technical Steering Committee for implementation. 
“There also partnerships with IHS Towers to improve and provide infrastructure to extendnetwork coverage (voice and data) in about 40 blind spots across the state.
“KDSG is also collaborating with Airtel to provide broadband connectivity to all Government locations in Kaduna and extend 3G/4G connectivity to allcommunities by the end of 2022,” he added.
He said that the community of practice of which AMMBAN is a member was established as a window for exchange of ideas.
” I therefore, implore the leadership of this very important association to utilize this open invitation by proposing viable private-public interventions for improved financial services and service delivery, across board,” he charged.
