Justice: Jigawa Ministry Receives 196 Cases, Disposes 112, 415 pending In High Courts

Attorney-General and Commissioner  of Justice for Jigawa State, Barrister Musa Aliyu has said that the ministry has treated 196 cases, from January to December this year out of which 42 are criminal in nature, while  83 were disposed.
Addressing a press at the Ministry, he further said that out of the cases,  he personally conducted 61 and disposed 24. 
“We also dismissed 11 cases and acquitted 41,” he said.
According to him, after careful investigations and scrutiny, they further disposed 83 for lack of sufficient proof and evidence, while 34 are awaiting trial and 49  acquitted.
Barr. Aliyu also stated the ministry under the jurisdiction of its courts has tried 90  cases of rape, 31  sodomy 20 armed robbery in different locations in the state and  a large number of fatal accidents cases.
On the activities of the ministry, Barr. Aliyu said all their five departments are fully functional and well equipped in dispensing of systematic justice administration procedures aimed at rendering effective service delivery at all times.
“We were able to digitize our operational services for quick dispensation of administration of justice especially with our judges  to facilitate their scope of services all meant to facilitate  effective service delivery,” he added.
He promiser continue transparency and disposal of cases regularly to ensure decongestion of their court rooms in their quest to honour speedy dispensation of justice in ensuring inmates decongestion in their various correctional centres.
“At the moment, we are trying our best  to decongest our prisons through ensuring speedy trials in our various courts,” he assured.
On staff welfare, Barr. Musa Aliyu said,  “we have achieved tremendously in this direction as we try to enhance motivation of our staff to be punctual to duty, approval of staff rights and privileges, as well as recommended to the state government to cater and motivate our judges in making them comfortable to render qualitative and effective service delivery.”
