Journalists have played a vital role for me beicomng a substantive
Provost of Federal College of Education Zaria.
Dr. Suleiman Balarabe stated this while receiving members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) , Zaria Unit who paid him a congratulatory visit on his confirmation as Provost by President Muhammadu Buhari in his office
He said the Federal College of Education Zaria’s doors remain open to promote knowledge and journalism professional skills in educating the younger generation.
Dr. Balarabe urged journalists to always remain focused in filing credible reports in order to improve the socio economic development at all levels.
“Journalism profession ihas a very good relationship with teaching professional aspects in educating, enlightenment and entertainment of the general public,” he said.

The Provost used the visit to announce the naming of the 1,500 capacity lecture theatre after late Provost, Dr. Ango Abdullahi Ladan, 1,300 Capacity lecture theatre was also named after Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, while the 1,000 capacity lecture theatre was named after Dr. Mukhtar Ibrahim Maccido, former provost of the college.
Earlier in his remarks the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists Zaria Unit, Comrade Sagir Auwal Muhammad expressed gratitude to the provost for accepting to host the journalists.
The chairman sought to have partnership with FCE Zaria and to extend the hand of freindship to journalists.
