The Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Council of Plateau State, Shehu Bala Usman has expressed excitement and joy over the emergence of Rev Dr Amos Mahzo of the General Church Council as the new President of the Church of Christ in Nation (COCIN), urging him to work towards restoration of peace.
The Chairman made his excitement known in a congratulatory message to Reverend Dr Amos Mahzo, where he described his emergence as well deserved and an attestation of the leadership prowess he demonstrated while serving the Church as General Secretary and Vice President COCIN; and other positions in Christendom over the years.
The Chairman expressed confidence that with his background and experience, he has no doubt that the President – elect is fully equipped for the COCIN family and indeed the Word of the Lord’s higher responsible heights.
Usman then urged the COCIN President-elect to continue preaching the message of hope, peace, unity, integrity and religious tolerance in order to build a strong foundation and promotion of love and oneness as means of strengthening Nigeria’s diversity and unity.
The Chairman further expressed optimism that Rev Dr. Amos Mahzo pragmatic leadership in the Evangelism will win more souls to Christ and total restoration of trust among the two major faith and humanity.
Usman assured the COCIN President-elect that his administration would continue to strengthen the existing cordial relationship with the church and prayed that God would strengthen him with the needed wisdom, courage and the enabling grace to continue sharinh the love of Christ and pilot the affairs of COCIN in the nation and the world at large
