Honorable Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the House of Representatives from Taura/ Ringim Federal Constituency, Jigawa State has promised to bring on board a different kind of representation for the emancipation of the people in the area.
Addressing journalists following his overwhelming victory at the primary election, Gambo said as the Ex- President of the Arewa Youth Forum, (AYF) he has decided to take his love for service to the people by contesting to represent them at the National Assembly.
The aspiring lawmaker thanked his people for the show of love and support which enabled him to clinch the ticket of the party and also the elders and leaders of the party for trusting him with the ticket and promised not to disappoint.
He said: Before now I have been in the service of my people, they know what I have been doing for them and they recognize my effort even when I was not holding any political position. That is why they are trusting me to give them a good representation.
“All I can say is that I will not disappoint them. They know my kind of person and what I can attract to my people. I understand how representation works and already many people have been telling me that they recognize my noble contributions, even as someone who is not in government. So you can imagine what we can do together as their representative.”
Gujungu has been the leader of the Arewa Youth Forum, the umbrella organization of all youths in the north since inception, with experience in youth activities and activism spanning decades in the north and across the country.
Gujungu is an Alumni of the International visitors Leadership programme, (IVLP) of the United States of America Exchange programme where he represents Nigeria in 2013.
He has used his leadership qualities to speak for the good of the people especially the masses. As an advocate of good governance he has used his position to demand the good for the north and Nigerians as a whole.
Gujungu has also been a consistent advocate in his bid to make sure that leadership provides the good for the greatest number of citizens. Where he has fought on the side of the people even against the present administration when the need arise.
