Jigawa Evacuates All 107 Indigenous Students From Sudan

About 41 indigenes of Jigawa State studying medicine of the 107 in Sudan, have returned to the state safely on Monday.

They were evacuated by the federal government from the conflict-riden country that led many nationals leaving for safety.

The students arrived the Dutse International Airport aboard Overland  Airline at 1:55pm.

A large turnout of parents of the returning students was witnessed at hand at the airport terminal and relatives of the returnees, welcoming them with joy from the conflict-riden country.

The Executive Secretary, Jigawa Islamic Education Bureau (IEB), Dr Abubakar Sani, who represented the state’s Commissioner of Education, Dr Lawan Danzomo, received the rreturnees and expressed happiness that none of the students was either injured or fell sick.

Malam Abdullahi Yunusa, The Director-General of the Jigawa Education Monitoring Bureau (SEMU), Malam Abdullahi Yunusa, enjoined the returnees to ensure they complete  their studies and not to be deterred by their return home.

He advised them to continue to read hard while at home pending when the government would decide on the fate of their studies.

The Executive Secretary of the state Scholarship Board, Mr Sa’idu Magaji, on his part, expressed  delight that all the 107 students who were evacuated from the Sudan, arrived safely at Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
