Insecurity: Ondo Lauds Military Over Collaboration

The acting Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa has applauded the military for collaborating with other security agencies to make the state a safe haven.

Aiyedatiwa stated this while playing host to the newly appointed General Officer, Commanding Second Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Valentine Okoro, who was in the Governor’s Office on courtesy visit.

The Press Secretary to Ayedatiwa, in a statement, noted that the GOC was on a familiarazation visit to Army formations in the State.

Aiyedatiwa while congratulating the GOC on his new appointment and visit to the Sunshine State, he lauded the strong collaboration between the Army and other security Agencies in maintaining peace and security of residents, protection of lives and properties. 

He assured that the existing synergy between the Military and other Security Agencies in the State would not dwindle.

“On behalf of our Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, we are very thankful to the Nigerian Army for the support over the years” .

“The Military are part of the reasons for the peace we are enjoying in Ondo State, as our State has been adjudged as one of the safest State in Nigeria” , declared Aiyedatiwa.

“We have been supporting and will continue to give that support and collaboration with the Military and other Security Agencies in the State within the availabilities of the resources we have”, he said.

Earlier, Major General Valentine Okoro assured the Acting Governor of more support from the Army in preserving peace and order in the State.

He also emphasized on intelligence gathering and public partnership as tools for effective security system.

“The Army in today’s environment is critical to the peace and the development of the country” .

“So, everybody has a role to play in ensuring that we entrench the security needed for peace to reign.

“We are very appreciative of the support from the state as we solicit for further support and collaborations to achieve the mandate given to us”, he said.
