*2 hoodlums shot dead, Lexus car, AK 47 rifles, amunition recovered
*charms, juju drums, charka musical instrument for shrine also recovered

Following the rising spate of attacks on security agencies in different parts of Ebonyi State recently, another three police officers who were on stop and search duty were attacked and shot dead on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at Oshiri Divisional police station.
According to a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Onome Onovewakpoyeya, the hoodlums launched the attack at about 08:30hrs against the operatives of the Police Division at Oshiri where three officers lost their lives while two of the hoodlums were also killed by the police tactical squad who were drafted to go after the hoodlums.
`Today being 24/05/2023 at about 08:30hrs, operatives of the command on stop and search duty at Oshiri Division were attacked by armed Hoodlums.
`Sadly, three Policemen lost their lives, one was injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.
`Tactical teams were immediately drafted to the area to go after the Hoodlums.
`Consequently, two of the hoodlums were neutralized and others escaped with bullet wounds.
“Some of the items recovered from them are:.one Lexus car ES350 Model, one fabricated AK 47 rifle, one AK 47 magazine with seven rounds of ammunition, one SMG rifle, one SMG magazine with 8 rounds of ammunition, a pack of hard drugs (SK), charms, juju drums and charka musical instrument for shrine.
Recall that last Sunday night, 2 police officers were also gundown at Union bank junction while on stop and search duty.
The Commissioner Of Police, Ebonyi State Police Command, CP Faleye S. Olayele, appeals to members of the Public to report anyone with bullet wounds or suspicious character in order to apprehend those at large.
