How PDP Won In Akwa Ibom – INEC

The Akwa Ibom State Collation Officer for Presidential Election, Prof. Emmanuel Adigio, who is also the Vice Chancellor of Nigeria Maritime Academy, Delta State,c has released a summary of the votes recorded during last Saturday poll.

According to Prof Adigio, Total Number of Registered Voters – 2,357,418; Total Number of Accredited Voters – 594,450, Total Valid Votes – 555,087; Rejected Votes – 32,328; Total Votes Cast – 587,417

Votes recorded by each political party that has presence in the state are as follow: A – 860; AA – 289; AAC – 626; ABC – 2,265; ADP – 811; APC – 160,620; APG – 783; APM – 599; APP – 325; DP – 524; LP – 182,683; NNPP – 7,796; NRM –  667; PDP -214,012; PRP – 343; ADP – 583; YPP- 27,179 and ZLP – 412

PDP also sweeps seven House of Representatives’ seats leaving APC with two, while YPP claimed one.

Reacting to the outcome, the state chairman of Labour Party, Mr. Lincoln Charles rejected the results and accused the local government areas returning officers engaged by INEC of fabricating the results they presented to PDP against his party.

According to him,  he would only accept the results uploaded from BVAS not handwritten, this he stressed was what INEC promised them.

He also said that many agents of the party were not allowed into the pulling units to monitor the election on Saturday because INEC could not produced identification tags to all their accredited party agents. 

“I am not comfortable with this result, I reject this result. Most of our agents could not be part of the election process because the Party was not provided enough tags for the election.” Mr. Charles added.
