A group, Advocate for Social Justice has advised President Muhammadu Buhari-led government on humanitarian grounds to grant the leader of the Islamic sect, Islamic movement, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife, Malama Zeenatuddin Ibrahim who have been discharged and acquitted by Kaduna State High Court, their traveling documents to treat themselves of various ailments as a result of the brutal attack unleashed on them.

It said in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary Mr Segun Fanimo that even President Muhammadu Buhari took time off from duty to attend to his  health situation outside Nigeria.
“So there is no justification to deny the Shiite leader in right to go to any country to attend to his worsening Health condition,’ the group said.

The statement read; “as you are aware, It has been over six months since the leader of the Islamic Movement, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife were acquitted and discharged by Kaduna State High Court, after spending almost six years in illegal detention.
“Justice Gideon Kurada had, in his ruling delivered on July 30, 2021, upheld the no case submission by the cousel of the defendants, Mr Femi Falana SAN.
“The couple who were arrested since December 2015 have been languishing in DSS custody, before later being transferred to Kaduna Correctional Centre facility, under in human and degrading  condition.
“Their medical situation was not properly in addition to their mismanaged life threatening gunshot injuries and numerous health complications that require serious intervention; as a result of which their health condition woefully deteriorated from bad to worse.
“Information available indicates that their health condition is deteriorating as Sheikh could be seen limping and his wife, Malama Zeenatuddin Ibrahim confined to a wheelchair.
“We call on the President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation to release the Sheikh and his wife’s travels documents so that they can seek for medical attention abroad.Sheikh and his wife suffered enough already.
“They lost six of their children in less than two years and over a thousand of his followers were killed and buried in mass graves and hundred of his followers were killed during their daily Free Zakzaky protests in Abuja.
“For the good of the country and maintain the fresh air in the street of Abuja and some parts of the nation considering the security crisis ravaging the country, it is therefore good to allow Shiite leader to go for medical attention. If government did not allow Zakzaky to attend to his health, maybe the streets of Abuja will soon be lettered unrelenting followers. Signed:Segun FanimoNational Publicity SecretaryAdvocate for Social Justice
