Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed shock that failure of the PDP-led governance in the state has become a panacea for victimization and witch-hunting of political opponents, as well as exhibition of lawlessness to the people.

The APC said that it would resist any attempt to divert public attention and will not succumb to any threat whatsoever, as it shall not allow Bauchi people to be misled in form of ‘shifting the goal post’.

A statement on Tuesday signed by the state Acting Secretary of the party, Bako Hussaini, said that APC is tired of clueless and ill-focused Governor Bala-led administration which, has since its inception in 2019, devised countless gimmicks and diversionary tactics to win the heart of people but to no avail.

Acting Secretary Hussaini observed that the Bauchi governor has in a bid to actualize his last option instituted several court cases against key figures, critical stakeholders and members of the APC in Bauchi state.

“Governor Bala unlawfully revoked land titles of APC members in Bauchi state, especially the valid titles of two former governors and their deputies who are now in APC”.

The Bauchi APC scribe also submitted that the Bauchi governor confiscated several properties of APC members which are lawfully acquired earlier before the inception of the PDP-led administration in the state in 2019.

“The governor demolished houses owned by loyal citizens without complying with due process of law. The most recent is the house of the honourable member representing Bauchi federal constituency in the House of Representatives, which was demolished last Saturday”.

According to him, the governor also unlawfully revoked SUBEB contracts in 2019 which were duly awarded to APC members during the immediate past administration in the state.

He said, “We are also fully aware that the Governor has now listed several other APC chieftains and critical stakeholders as the next target for witch-hunting, harassment and political victimization”.

The APC therefore condemned what it described as ‘cunning maneuvers of the governor currently being employed to cover-up his apparent failure to steer the ship of Bauchi state.

APC further observed that civil servants in the state were reduced to paupers begging for charity in order to survive, with inconsistent and lopsided payment of salaries now becoming order of the day.
