The acting Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA), Sir. James Iorpuu has commended the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his dedication to infrastructural development of the agency’s headquarters
Mr. James Iorpuu stated this while on supervision of the ongoing renovation and drilling of motorized borehole at the BSEMA headquarters, Makurdi.
New Nigerian Newspapers in Makurdi reports that the Benue State Government embarked on massive renovation of the BSEMA headquarters and other critical infrastructure to provide a more conducive and safe working environment for the agency’s staff.
The Ag. BSEMA ES expressed hope that the renovated BSEMA headquarters would be operational in next few days, citing that the project has reached about 92% completion and that the contractors are working to complete it.
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the work done, stating that BSEMA deserves condusive working environment in order to better perform its disaster management responsibilities.
According to a statement made available to New Nigerian in Makurdi by the Information Officer of the agency, Mr Tema Ager, the ongoing renovation of BSEMA headquarters, which houses departments and units, including important facilities, was due to dedication of Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to close the huge infrastructure deficit.
While re-affirming BSEMA’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property as stated in its mandate and responsibilities, he appreciated management and staff of the agency for their commitment to duty.
