Foundation Offers AKSU Graduate With 4.90 CGPA Sponsorship For Overseas Study

A graduate of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), with a final Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.90,  Mr Ukeme Ikot of Electrical/Electronics Engineering has been awarded a full scholarship to study for a master’s programme in any Ivy League University in the world by the Ini Ememobong Foundation.

Mr. Ini Ememobong, the Chairman of the foundation, announced the scholarship at the send-forth ceremony for graduating students from the Campus Church of Christ of the university, Obio Akpa. 

He said that the foundation will prefer that the brilliant graduate applies for admission in Ivy League schools like Havard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University, Cambridge University, Stanford University amongst others, as the foundation, through God’s benevolence and support from donors, will bear the burden of sponsorship.

The chairman of the foundation who is also the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, said in addition to Ukeme Ikot, the foundation will undertake the payment of fees for all students in the Campus Church of Christ Obio Akpa who maintain a CGPA of 4.50 throughout the duration of their study in the university.

He praised the commitment to excellence demonstrated by Ukeme Ikot and urged him to prepare to excel more when he arrives overseas for his masters programme.

“As a person, I have always believed in the potency of education to help society change her collective standards of living and fortunes. At the Ini Ememobong Foundation which I am privileged to serve as Chairman, one of our driving philosophies is to use the potent tool of education to push people to become active drivers and contributors to the task of providing solutions to societies most pressing challenges,”  he said.

Mr. Ememobong also charged the graduating students to be ready to deploy the knowledge they have garnered through the years in the university, to contribute to a better Akwa Ibom and Nigeria.

He also urged graduates of the university, to use their education to better the state and country at large.

Prayers for God’s guidance, protection, and accelerated career progression were also offered for the graduates.

Highpoint of the event was the announcement of special gift to all the graduates by Comrade Ini Ememobong and a message of motivation by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Publicity Secretary, Mr. Borono Bassey, charging the graduating students to live above their peers by acquiring extra knowledge and skills in addition to their academic qualifications.
