Flyover: Benue Residents Laud Gov Alia, As Contractor Assures Of Quality Job

Residents of Makurdi and a cross section of the stakeholders in Benue State have applauded Governor Hyacinth Alia for keeping to his electioneering promises of infrastructural development in the last eight months.

A cross section of the stakeholders were reacting to the commencement of the construction of the first flyover in High Level roundabout, which is in  the heart of Makurdi, Benue State capital, awarded to Bauhaus Global by the state government.

Speaking in an interview with journalists in Makurdi, member representing Kwande West State Constituency, Benue State House of Assembly, Pharmacist Dugeri Thomas described the commencement as a turning point in the infrastructural development of the state.

The  lawmaker who commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for his visionary leadership in the last eight months, called on the contractor to ensure that the contract is executed according to the specifications as no sub standard job will be accepted not only by the governor, but the entire state.

Pharmacist Thomas while stating that the Benue State House of Assembly will give the governor all the legal backing as he has embarked on changing the infrastructural narratives of the state for good, wondered what happened in the past, ” I think when we see a governor paying salaries, pensions, roads and now flyover all within eight months, we begin to ask questions”.

Mr. Humble Thomas Terhemba, a retired Director in the State Civil Service and  Douglas Terwase Kachi in their separate remarks, described the Commencement of the project as historical considering the fact that Benue was created over 40 years ago with full potentialities.

While Mr. Terhemba Commended the governor for paying salaries and pensions promptly, Mr. Kachi described the governor with a good attitude towards governance and appealed to the contractor to give the state quality job so that posterity will be fair to them.

In an interview with newsmen at the site, Engr Charnel Alammar, the Project Manager, Bauhaus Global Nigeria Ltd, promised that his company which has a good records with sound manpower and equipment will deliver the job within a record time.

According to Engr Alammar, Bauhaus Global has been registered in Nigeria for over seven years with company profile of high quality jobs across the country will ensure that the job is done according to specifications knowing how passionate the governor and the people of Benue State are towards the project.

The Bauhaus Global Project Manager also disclosed that the Company have two ongoing projects in Gboko Local council of the State and as such, ” we have come to stay in Benue State as our capacity to deliver very high quality jobs will speak for us and we believe his Excellency and the good people of Benue State will never be disappointed in us because of our sound track records”.

In a related development, following the commencement of the construction of the first flyover around High Level Roundabout in the heart of Makurdi, the state Ministry of Works and Housing, has announced major diversion points within High Level.

The State Commissioner of Works and Housing, Mr. Imojime Isaac Tiza in a  statement by his Media Assistant, Terhemba Injo Jabi, said traffic from old Otukpo Road from St Theresa have been diverted to Vandeikya, Otukpo  B Division through Ishaya Bakut and Modern Market through IBB Square.
