Fire Razes Bodija International Market  Ibadan Shops, Destroys Property Worth Millions Of Naira

Property worth millions of Naira were on Monday, destroyed at the popular Bodija Market in Ibadan, during an early morning inferno.

New Nigerian gathered that the cause of the fire was yet  known as at the time of our correspondent’s visit to the market as well as at the time of sending this report.

Sources at the market said no fewer than 60 shops were completely razed in the inferno consuming all the goods within the affected shops.

Our Correspondent visit to the market revealed that areas affected by the fire outbreak in the market are  Ori-Igi, Daleko and  Iso ẸlẹwĂ  axis of the Bodija International market.

Some of the traders whose shops were razed by the fire were sighted in groups lamenting the havock wrecked by the inferno.

Most of the affected traders were seen crying profusely, claiming that their goods worth millions of Naira were burnt to ashes when  the market went up in flames.

A trader who identified herself as Alhaja  Romoke Ganiya Jelili said she lost over N5 million to the inferno.

Hundreds of sympathizers later  stormed the market, assisting some of the affected traders in packing remnants of their burnt goods.
