Fintiri Flags-off  Disbursement of N50,000 Cash Grants To 10,000 Micro-business Owner Across Adamawa

In his efforts to empower entrepreneurs to thrive in a competitive marketplace, Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State  has  flagged-off the disbursement of cash grants of N50,000 to 10,000 micro-business owners in the state.

According to him, the empowerment programme is a significant milestone of his administration’s commitment to uplifting the socio-economic status of the people and foster inclusive growth across all sectors of the economy in the state.

Fintiri explained that the disbursement was done through the state government’s Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) established to liberate the state from poverty and empower citizens of the state with skills .

“As a government, we recognise that micro-businesses form the backbone of our local communities, driving innovation, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to the overall prosperity of our people and our dear state.

“The decision to allocate these cash grants stems from our unwavering dedication to alleviating poverty and empowering our entrepreneurs to thrive in a competitive marketplace. By providing direct financial assistance to 10,000 micro-business owners, we aim to catalyse their growth, enhance their productivity, and enable them to scale-up their ventures to new heights.

“We understand the challenges faced by micro-business owners, from limited access to capital to lack of resources and infrastructure,” he said 

The Fresh Air Governor maintained that these cash grants are not merely handouts, but strategic investments in the future of Adamawa State, adding that they represent a” tangible expression of our belief in the entrepreneurial spirit of our people and our commitment to creating an enabling environment for business success.

Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner for Entrepreneurship Development, James Iliya said the Fintiri Business Wallet has touched all nooks and crannies of the state.

He  appreciated the governor for fulfilling his campaign promise which he noted will boost the economy of the state

Earlier, Head of PAWECA, Haj Aisha Baja Bello described the beneficiaries as future entrepreneurs of the state appreciating the Governor for the rare opportunity to serve humanity

She said the 10,000 beneficiary were drawn from across the 226 wards of the state,highlighting achievements of the Governor and urging the beneficiaries to reciprocate by being prudent and productive

In his goodwill message, Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley commended the foresight of the governor in reaching out to the downtrodden urging him not to relent

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Eunice Kiliyobas described Governor Fintiri as a man of his words, who is determined to empower those in need promising to make judicious use of the resources.
