Fight Against Illicit Drugs: Niger Delta Youth Commend Marwa For Exceptional Leadership At NDLEA

Youth of Niger Delta have lauded efforts of Executive Chairman National Drug Laws Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) General Buba Marwa (rtd) to rid the country of drug and substance abuse and trafficking.

It was made known in a statement signed by the President of Niger Delta Youth Council of Nigeria (NDYCN), Comrade Ufuoma Victor Erharhine.

The umbrella youth council in the statement, acknowledged numerous   landmark achievements of the NDLEA boss to include; curtailing the activities of drug barons, reducing to barest minimum substance abuse amongst youth, mass enlightenment campaigns on dangers of illicit use of drugs among other strides achieved by Marwa.

The statement said Marwa has through his exemplary and charismatic leadership skills, inspired operatives at the agency to discharge their duties with utmost diligence, passion and patriotism for country.

“We have seen a positive departure from the hitherto comatose and passive anti-drug abuse to a vibrant and active agency whose personnel are taking the fight to the doorsteps of barons and traffickers.

“The country has witnessed a tremendous achievement in areas of fight against sales and abuse of illicit drugs in our society.

“The country has gained recognition in the international community and reclaimed her spot as the giant of Africa in positive ways since General Buba Marwa assumed duty as head of NDLEA.

“It was in the light of these rare feats, the youth of Niger Delta had to sometime ago conferred an award of excellence to a man of excellence and patriot with unwavering loyalty to fatherland.

“We urge other well-meaning Nigerians to support Buba Marwa in whichever capacity they can in the fight to have a drug free country of our dream,” the statement added.
