The Vice President Osinbanjo of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo has reassured that the Federal Government will continue to render all the necessary support needed for uplifting people’s standard of living in the country.
The Vice President expressed this on Thursday in Kaduna while unveiling the Kaduna Investment Summit 6.0 with the Theme : “Towards a Sustainable Knowledge-based Economy”
He lauded the efforts of the state government in promoting investments stressing that this brings prestige not only to Kaduna State but to Nigeria as a whole.
According to him, he follows Kaduna State Government progress due to the state government’s seriousness which has brought to the sub national governance in Nigeria.
He however, said the policies and innovation in the state which is clearly exemplary and the theme for the summit which is commendable development.
” With the focus we must be developing a knowledge base economy which is now human capital and knowledge can be productive asset basic product,” he said.
He noted that knowledge based economy can enhance performance and all the benefits that can be drive from Agriculture, manufacturing and services
He maintained that the summit has become a platform been unveil not just only to market Kaduna but Nigeria in general as a compelling businesses destination for investment.
He noted that Kaduna State as the business hub for future job creation and for the future of economic development, not only in Kaduna but the country at large.
According to him, “we are very far from taking full advantage of our young people.
“The main problem is how to bridge the barrier to the knowledge economy, how to summount the barriers to the knowledge economy,
” The first is the structure that provide incentive for entrepreneurship and use of knowledge, the second is the availability of skills, labor and good education system and access to information.
“And communication technology and ICT and the fourth is vibrant investing landscape that includes academia private sector and civil society”.
He further emphasised that knowledge economy which is entirely dependent on intellectual capital and knowledge work force.
In his remarks, Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State said the state has laid foundation for the provision of over seven million jobs before 2050.
Governor el-Rufai explained that over seventy per cent of the population in Kaduna State is below thirty years of age, hence, the need for informed decision to harness the potentials of this youthful human resources accordingly.
He disclosed that the state government has recorded tremendous success in the previous editions of the Investment Summits noting that renewed efforts are being intensified to maintain the enviable position of the state as number one in the ease of doing business in Nigeria
He said as part of efforts to boost business activities and generate huge revenue for development, the Kaduna State Government is holding its six edition of Economic and Investment Summit tagged KADINVEST 6.0
