Federation Vows To Provide Shooting Ranges In Kano, Rivers Within Two Months

President  NIgeria Shooting Sports Federation (NSSF), Commodore Olatunji Bamidele Ayoade has vowed that the board has swing into action and would make available two world class shooting ranges in the country within the next two months.
He expressed this, while briefing members of the Sports Writers Association of NIgeria (SWAN) at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) on Sunday at the University of Ilorin. 

“We have agreed as a board that the first thing we need to do is to develop shooting ranges.
“We have looked at Kano and we have looked at Rivers State.
“These two would be done within the next two months,” he said.
According to him, they believe that when that is done, they would be on the right track for development of the sports.
“We intend in Rivers, we would have Imo and Abia states to participate because they are close to Rivers,” he added.
On the NYG, he said that from Shooting Sports, several budding talents have been Identified.
” I can assure you that we have already discovered talents that can do NIgeria proud.
“Fifteen year olds already shooting like professionals,” he added.
The president explained that Shooting Sports is a discipline game that inculcates in youth discipline.
On partnership with the media, he said that plans are on for a robust relationship.
“We would include media in refresher courses in Abuja and also have a feel of what the athletes are going through. 
“You would be on ground, see what the athletes are going through so you can get first hand experience,” he assured.
On immediate plans of the federation, he said they are swinging into action.
“The next place we are going to is Kano State, after that we will go to Rivers State. We pray that the state governments can help us sustain the training.
“After that we will go to Rivers State and hopefully we would get some talents from there. We hope to reach all the zones. I assure you that you would equally be carried along in the process,” he stressed.
