Former Kaduna State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Maryamu Laka Madami also a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has hailed Thursday’s ruling of the Kaduna State Gubernatorial Election Petition Tribunal, saying it was victory not only for Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, but victory for all citizens of the state.

It would be recalled that the Kaduna State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Thursday, upheld the election of Governor Uba Sani of the APC in a ruling that lasted five and half hours.

Mrs Madami in a  Statement she personally signed in Kaduna on Friday said,  “May I use this opportunity to heartily join the APC family in the state and the entire country, including our millions of supporters to hail the ruling of the Kaduna State Gubernatorial Election Petition Tribunal and to congratulate our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Uba Sani over the ruling of the Tribunal yesterday 28th, September 2023.

“It is an affirmation of the fact that the hard work, dedication and commitment which we put in your campaign bore the fruits of your victory as the real votes of the majority in Kaduna State.

“Yesterday’s victory is not only for you and the APC but for all the citizens of Kaduna State.

“Happily, I have every reason to be proud of your achievements so far, especially in your resolve to unite the state and run an all-inclusive government in all aspects of governance”, said Madami.

“In just a short time, the governor’s impact is felt all over the place because the state is blessed with human and material resources that need sound and visionary leaders to fully maximize those potentials,” she added.

“It was against this backdrop that to God be the glory, Kaduna State is blessed with Governor Uba Sani who has what it takes and is committed to place the state on the path of sustainable developments.

“It is also on this premise that I have no doubt that should in the end we have to go for a re-run in the said 22 polling units in the 7 wards in 4 LGAs of the state, I want to assure you that as a member of your Gubernatorial Campaign Team, we are up to the task of securing a seamless victory.

“But, as you have wisely counselled us yesterday in your press statement, this is not time for grandiose celebration. It is an opportunity on our side to offer our hands of friendship to other parties and to appeal to them to take the interest of Kaduna state first above other mundane interest and cooperate with you as you lead the state to peace, prosperity and progress for all,” said Madami who was a member of the 2023 Tinubu/Shetima Women Presidential Campaign Team.
