Ex Borno Speaker, Commissioner’s Children Die In Auto Crash

Children of former Borno  State House of Assembly Speaker and former  State Commissioner of Education,  Hon Musa Inuwa Kubo,  and Adamu Audi have  died in a fatal  auto crash.

Two other victims including one Adamu Dan Hajoya, also died in the crash which occured at the Kwaya-Kusar-Peta-Shani road on Wednesday evening, December 14, 2022, when their car lost control and rammed into a  deep pot hole and finally somersaulted into a  heap of sand being used for road repairs.

It was gathered that all the deceased  died instantly on the spot of the incident, while one of them is still responding to treatment after sustaining  serious injuries and dislocation.

The deceased were  said to have been conveyed later to Shani town,  the home town of the father,  Hon. Inuwa Kubo, who were in advanced movement to arrange accommodation,  venue and mobilize people for the Borno South Senatorial.Disteict Governorship Campaign rally of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, while the Governor was at Kaduna and Minna for same campaign rally of his boss,  Senator  Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima ticket.

It was gathered that the victims were heading to Shani Local Government Area from Maiduguri in preparation for the campaign of the All Progressives Congress, slated to be launched by the Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur on Thursday for Southern Borno senatorial district with the Deputy Governor as the State Chairman of the 2023 Governorship Campaign Rally of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and Hon. Unar Usman Kadafur ticket.

Following the sad turn of events, the leader of the campaign team,  Hon. Umar  Kadafur  had to cancel the campaign rally to attend to the funeral  prayers of the victims  to sympathize with the family and people of Shani Emirate and by extension,  Borno people.

The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Senator representing Borno South senatorial district  Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Speaker of  Borno State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan and other top government officials,  party and groups Stakeholders    among others.

The deceased were buried according to  Muslim rites on Thursday afternoon, December 15,  2022.

The  funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Shani.
