Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar has turbaned the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Katsina, Alhaji Muntari Lawal as Magatakardan Hausa.
The turbaning ceremony which took place at the Palace of the Emir, attracted the State government delegation led by the Permanent Secretary Government House, Alhaji Falalu Bawale.
The turbaning of Alhaji Muntari Lawal was led by the Galadiman Daura, Engineer Ahmed Diddiri Ahmed supported by Kauran Daura Alhaji Lawal Usman.
Shortly after the turbaning, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruq Umar said the traditional title given to the SSG was based on merit in recognition of his active role in repositioning the state.
According to him, the title was bestowed on Alhaji Muntari Lawal after wider consultations and unanimous approval of the emirates of seven Hausa and non Hausa kingdoms.
He then congratulated the new Magatakardan Hausa, Alhaji Muntari Lawal and hoped he would resist any attempt of victimization to the north.
In an interview, the new Magatakardan Hausa, Alhaji Muntari Lawal said the day was a memorable to him and thanked the Emir for finding him worthy for the new task.
