Governor Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai of Kaduna State wants the people of Nikyob (Kaninkon Chiefdom) and the entire Jema’a Local Government Area to embrace peaceful coexistence and to also report any suspicious movement to relevant authorities to end security challenges in the area.
The governor made this known during the Bakin Kogi Cultural Day Celebration in Kaninkon Chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State- Nigeria.
Represented by the Council Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Mr. Yunana Markus Barde, the governor described the cultural festival as one of the best events after a few years of ugly incidents that enveloped the community leading to loss of lives and destruction of property.
He assured the people that government is working assiduously in synergy with security agencies to contend the new wave of criminality that has mutated and transformed into another dimension, causing havoc to communities and the nation at large.
The governor said Kaninkon chiefdom would not be left out as Kafanchan Municipal Development Authority is in the process of initiating developmental projects across Jema’a, Kaura, and Zangon-Kataf local government areas.
Nasir el-Rufai tasked people of Jema’a LGA to embrace government policies and programmes, noting that, they are eligible channels for development and growth in the area and the country in general.
The paramount Ruler of Kaninkon Chiefdom,Tum Nikyob, His Royal Highness, Tanko Tete while appreciating the governor, assured government that his Chiefdom is committed to peaceful coexistence towards promoting unity and development of the nation.
High point of the cultural celebration was presentation of trophy to winners of the local Inter-Village League competition, with prayers that God should continue to unite the people despite their differences to drive home development.
