A former Special Adviser on Internal Security to Gov. Nasir el-Rufai, Alhaji Yakubu Soja has resigned his membership from the All Progressives Congress and joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Soja told newsmen in Zaria that he tendered his letter of resignation to the Chairman of APC, Tukur-Tukur Ward on Saturday.
Yakubu Soja who was a member, Kaduna State House of Assembly, representing Zaria Kewaye, said the decision to dump the APC came after wide consultations with his supporters.
“ In my past experience in politics, I have been in the opposition party such as the ANPP, CPC and the APC before it subsequently clinched power in 2015.
“ I and my supporters decided to join PDP with a view to seeking justice and fairness to the people.
“We will support the PDP to win the 2023 general elections to enable it salvage Nigerians from the myriad of socio-economic challenges bedeviling the nation,’’ he said.
According to him, a date will soon be announced for the official decamping ceremony which will be attended by thousands of his supporters.
