The Administrator Jema’a Local Government in Kaduna State, Alh. Yusuf Mu’azu Usman has applauded the Governor of the State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai for recommending and introducing the Electronic Voting Machine (E.V.M) for the forth coming Local Government election billed for May, this year.
According to a Press Release from the information office of the Local Government, the Administrator as saying that it was a heartwarming development, which will reduce rigging, delay in coallation of results, among others, thus enhancing transparency and hitch free election.
The Administrator, the Press Release stated, made the commendation as went round to see the electronic voting Machine demonstration exercises going on within the Local Government on Monday.
Alh. Yusuf Mu’azu Usman also commended people of Jema’a Local Government for coming out enmasse to avail themselves the use of the voting machine, in preparation for the forth coming Local Government election in May.
People expressed joy in the testing of the voting machine, to ascertain its workability, effectiveness and efficiency, before the voting proper, making the state move closer to advanced democracy in other countries of the world, promising to mobilize to come out to vote candidates of their choice, aside peace maintenance during the election.
